We use a large array hardwoods. Our primary use of hardwood is, Cherry, Maple, Walnut, Sapele, and Purpleheart. The reasoning to use these woods is because of the hardness and structure in this family of woods. Meaning the cutting board produced is going to have a very long lifespan.

Wood is far more superior because of its ability to keep your knife sharper that plastic as plastic will dull your knife very quickly. Plastic is also unhygienic because of the way the plastic traps bacteria whereas wood has the ability to block out most bacteria because of its anti-fugal and bacterial properties. Plastic cutting boards also introduce the possibilities of introducing BPA's and microplastics into your food.
